i have an assignment where i have to research simple machines(essay) and i dont know how to start the essay and i'm going out of town for the rest of my march break so i have to finish it today! can you plzzz help?

Everyone wants something that will make their work easier. Simple machines don't make the work any less but they do change either the force or distance. They may also change the direction of the force. By doing so, machines make tasks easier.

First of all, do you know what is meant by simple machines?
Some examples: lever, pulley, inclined plane, wheel and axle
Next, look up each of these in a simple search--if you can use Wikipedia, that will be the fastest. If not, use a google search to find sites for each machine.
Create your outline. It would probably be something like this:
I. Name of simple machine
a. description of the machine
b. history of the machine (how far back in history is it found?)
c. development/uses of the machine in history
d. how this simple machine is used today
Do this for each of the simple machines.
