Its not the same the heat and steam in the containers gets it soggy and barely keeps it warm your eating from paper, wax paper, foil, and take out orders aren't any where near the same atmosphere,a car, your house, work, atmosphere counts and then remember when they forget everything that comes with it

For the same reason a fresh cup of tea tastes better in a tea cup fresh rather than a paper cup 20 minutes later.
And the same reason ready meals don't taste as good as fresh meals.
And frozen meals don't taste as good as fresh meals.
See where I'm going?

1. to sit there, food goes from oven to table in about 2 mins or less.
2. take out, means food goes from oven to table in at least 10 mins. plus it is stored in a box or plastic and like any food/liquid item, it will start to take on the taste of such said item. That is why cans for like green beans, corn, etc are lined so the food doesn't taste like metal.

Next time, order a take away then go into the restaurant to eat it. If it tastes different, complain.

Wow, I think you're going a little over the top here. Just chill. Some takeways will let you use you own cartons and pans if it means that much to you. And if somebody else has already said that, sorry. i dont have time to read all of your answers! Thats your job!

Spike,
Better restaurants have better care of their food when they deliver. The food tastes just as good as when you eat in.
However, cheaper restaurants use cheaper food and they do not hold their flavor ow (low) quality during delivery.
