PCOS is something that you have all your life, though there's still not a lot of information about what happens with PCOS around menopause.
With PCOS, we often need help getting pregnant, whether it's a prescription for Metformin, which can help with some of the symptoms, and restore ovulation, or clomid, which also helps ovulation, or other medications. Metformin also can help reduce the risk of pregnancy complications like miscarriage or gestational diabetes, and it may help women with PCOS to have fewer problems breastfeeding.
There's no over the counter medication that is proven to help you get pregnant faster. The folic acid is important because it helps prevent neural tube defects, not because it helps you get pregnant more quickly.
If you've got PCOS,it's important to know whether or not you're ovulating, and so you may need to use ovulation predictor kits, or chart your cycles to make sure that you are. You can find OPKs at most drugstores near the pregnancy test, or learn more about your fertility signs from the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility, or the website Fertilityfriend.com. You use a special basal body thermometer, and measure your temperature every day at the same time each day, after at least three hours of sleep, first thing when you wake up, before you sit up or get out of bed. You also use other fertility signs-the position and texture of your cervix (it gets soft, high, and opens around the time of ovulation) and the cervical mucous (stretchy, egg white mucous indicates ovulation.)
If you want to get pregnant, you may want to speak to your doctor about it. Your doctor can do all your pre-conception testing, making sure you're as healthy as you possibly can be in order to have a baby. The doctor will also likely be able to help figure out whether or not clomid or metformin or both (usually the best option) will help you get pregnant.
Soulcysters.com has lots of great information for women with PCOS, and lots of supportive message boards as well. Good luck.

Look on NHS Direct..it has a section about PCOS. I would suggest that if that doesn't answer your question, go to see the midwife at your GP surgery, or the GP. Wanting a baby is not a nice place to be, and it is horrible seeing others around you, being pregnant, some who aren't that happy about it, some who even "get rid"...when you want your own.
The only thing that I would say might help you become pregnant quicker, is to relax, and try to become calmer. Stress will not help you, but I know that is easier said than done, perhaps if you both learned to help the other relax, you might get there, not saying you won't need the doctor's advice, and even treatment, but being relaxed will help, if not getting pregnant soon, giving you the patience to wait until you are. A much wanted, much waited for baby is worth the wait.
Good luck and take care.

hi! My name is brandi. I'm 19 years old. I also have PCOS but just got dianosed about two weeks ago. I'm pretty much wondering the same thing (about conceiving a baby) but I do know one answer to your question.... it is not curable..only treatable!!! So yes, you'll have it your whole life but there are medications to help treat it. I'm on Metformin (generic brand for Glucophage). With PCOS comes hormonal imbalance's...so it's hard conceiving (for me anyway) I've been married about 8 months now but we've been trying to conceive for about 9 1/2 months with no luck... but that was due to PCOS which I didn't know about until 2 weeks ago!! From what I read online the medicine I'm on (Metformin) is to help regulate your periods and help reduce pressure/symptoms from cysts. BUT it is not a fertility drug but apparently it's supposed to help regulate periods and after several months it could help you ovulate so you can conceive!!? A website I was on earlier said that you can be on a fertility drug called Clomiphene along with the Metformin and it will help you conceive quickly but help you stay healthy too!!? wish you all the best!!! --brandi--

not all women with pcos have trouble conceiving. the fact that you conceived twice in the past might mean that you will ahve no problems conceiving now. try for 6 months and if no luck then see the doctor.
herbs are best when used in combination. see www.fertilesoul.com for herbal supplements.
vitamins:
omega fish oil -- balances hormones
NAC -- helps with insuling resistance, similar effects to Metformin
Cinnamon -- helps with insulin similar effects to Metfomin
Take B complex
Take a good multivitamin
Best of luck!

Once infertility has been diagnosed, there are a number of treatment options available depending on the root cause of the problem. Learn here https://tr.im/rs5p1
Infertility is a condition defined as not being able to become pregnant after at least one year of unprotected, regular, well-timed intercourse. Women who suffer from multiple miscarriages may also be diagnosed as infertile. Infertility may be classified into two groups, primary and secondary infertility.
