Often times a palm will have an overall yellowing due to a magnesium deficiency. This can be corrected by broadcasting 2 to 5 lbs. of magnesium sulfate from the base of the tree out to its dripline. Alternate this with a complete palm fertilizer every 4 months. You will only see improvement on new fronds.

Why don't you use this Q as an excuse to make friends with your neighbor? Ask them (him, her) how they care for theirs, make friends, learn something. Maybe They'll invite you to a party.
Are your's small and theirs big, you might be over watering if you are mimicking their schedule. Have you used or over used fertilizer?. Ask Your neighbor please. Make a new friend.
