It really depends on what kind of music you want to hear. Jim Morrison isn't going to write any new music, so if you're in the mood for older rock n roll The Doors are still great. Van Morison's music has always had a different sound than that of The Doors... more mellow, more lyrical. Of the two , I think Van Morrison is the better poet, better vocalist, and more progressive musically. Besides, he's Irish, and still producing.

They are two totally diffrent types of singers, I like van morrison better at a jazzy or ballad type song as i like jim doing a blues type rocking song.. personally I love Van Morrison, he is awesome..
