If the snow pack in unstable enough a loud noise could do it. But noise alone is the unlikely cause.
Typically man made avalanches are caused by someone skiing, walking, snow machining or something across an unstable snow pack.
When avalanches are shot down it is the explosive charge that triggers the avalanche not the noise.

Hmm... I live in the valley. I yelled. No avalanche.
But I suppose you are talking about how avalanches occur?
Avalanches usually occur in temperatures between 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit. Avalanches start most often on slopes above the timberline that face away from prevailing winds.

Why don't you go try it out? No, I'm just joking. I don't really know if it does or not. I think not though. I kinda think it's just a movie thing.
