Ms. just doesnt give away the satuse (Ms. is used to not offend women) such as a teacher at school, if some students call some teachers Mrs, and some Miss then thats offensive to the teachers so they just stick with Ms.

Miss is a single person, whereas Ms. is usually someone who is divorced. It can also mean the woman did not want to show what "status" she is, as in she is just an older, single woman, and the Ms. is for respect.

Ms. is suppposed ot indicate mystery and obscurity- it isn't not clear whether or not you're married or not and you'd like to keep everyone guessing as well.

Miss refers to women who are not married period.

Many women, I've personally noticed like to go by Ms. until they've attained a professional title such as Dr.

I remember being told this once but can not remember where it came from.

Ms. is and abbreviation for Miss
Mr. is and abbreviation for Mister
Mrs. is actuality and abbreviation for Mister's because married women were once referred to by their husband's name for example if Jane Smith married John Doe he would be Mr. John Doe and she would have been Mrs. John Doe or Mister John Doe's

but then i cant remember where the information came from so feel free to double check behind me.

Here's what my English teacher once told me:

Mrs. means you're married,

Miss means you're not,

And Ms. means it's none of your business.
