I already runned the install CD on boot, but the installer does not detect the Hard Disk, it's a 100GB 5400 RPM SATA.
I tried to install from the current windows
I already formated
Created a new partition
It originally had Vista but I need an older S.O. for a special software that I have

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately Microsoft doesn't support downgrading your OS without some hassle. There are several steps that might work, download Virtual PC 2007 from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/virtualpc/default.mspx
it lets you go back and forth from operating systems. If that doesn't suit you could try the software manufacturers website and search for a vista patch. Otherwise if none of these work your cd drive might be no good.

Oh the beauty of MS! Apparently you are not alone in this problem.

Check to make sure that your sata drivers are installed from your bios. This seems to be the number one solution to this problem because Vista probably did not have the drivers for the drive installed that XP requires.

You probably can get the drivers from the bios manufacturers website.

Theoretically, i do no longer think of you ought to have any issues. there's a young danger your computing device might have some id confusion being uncertain of that's kind and kind later on, which will have a skill consequence on the actual utility verification application.
