go for what you want. i mean if you want in NYC, then go ahead...it won't kill you...NYC is, undoubtedly, booming in the music industry...but look at utada hikaru...she made it...if you have a dream, you've got to protect it. don't let anybody tell you you can't do it...even the closest person to you...

Are you a 2nd or 3rd generation Japanese-American, meaning that you were born to Japanese parents whose grandparents went to the US and never came back? Or, are you a real Japanese who went to the US and now you feel the way you do?

The reason why I ask is because there are a few different routes you can take. Here is the one I would recommend. If you are Japanese who has just spent a few years in the US, or better yet, a Japanese-American, I would recommend you to stay in NYC. You are right in that NYC is more educationally conducive to the arts, especially singing. If you get a few jobs in NYC, once people in Japan see that you worked as a real entertainer/performer in NYC, your chances of getting into a higher level management group, than if you started in TYO. Arts school in Japan are starting to become more and more like pop artist schools. Pumping out the likes of Namie Amuro, etc. People with no talent, but a look that people like. (Annoyed grunt)

Either way, with a background in the USA, you won't have to go through as much "paying the dues" as you would if you were home grown.

Take for example, Kaya, Kane Kosugi, V-ball player Zutterland.

Good luck to you.

i've got been to Paris and NYV. i'd choose London I would desire to declare. i choose to bypass to all of them yet London must be the winner. (I went to Paris and NYC whilst i became into little and my existence purpose is to work out a Broadway teach, ideally Annie)
