Genghis Khan. He had a harem of almost 500 women, where he labored with surprising energy. In today's population it is estimated that 16,000,000 men carry Genghis Khan's Y chromosome, and he must have an approximately equal number of female descendants.

Hitler did not attempt world domination. You'll recall he made mutual defense pacts with several nations before and during what the USA refers to as World War Two.
It is true he employed his military forces against two of the principal three Axis powers. He pressured others who may be termed as political vassals to introduce their smaller economic and military weight into military adventures of Germany. Even so, Hitler did not have the resources to attempt world domination. The best he could do was share his secret military research with Japan in hope it could help
turn aside some of the foes bearing down upon Berlin.
His main error was in starting the war too early. The original
plan required a secret treaty with the Soviet Union to train
their joint military forces in tactical deployments of Air and Armour forces until 1945. Then the main war of European conquest would begin with Arabia and Africa as end goals. This treaty was made.
There WERE previous attempts of world domination. The Huns are my hands-down favorite if only because the smaller barbarian peoples being pushed aside ran amuck through the Roman Empire and accidentlly helped foster the growth of what became Christianity. Asia got into Central Europe before enough organization arose to turn them back.
