I'm going out of town for a week. I can tell the post office to hold my mail, but I need to do the same for UPS because I am expecting a package. In my neighborhood UPS just leaves packages out on the doorstep in plain view, but I don't want a box on my doorstep sitting out there for a week.

Do you have a trusted neighbor or friend who can come by the day of delivery? Either they can wait at your place, or you can give them the tracking # and when they see it marked as delivered, go to your place and hold onto it until you return.

Or you can contact the shipper and inform them of the situation. They might be able to stop the package and arrange for it to be shipped at another time, although you might not have this option if it's already been shipped.
