Why do people care more about celebrities than world matters?

This is more a theoretical/moral question than anything else but why is that whenever you watch the news, some celebrities life is always more important than world events? why is it more important where some has-been is going to buried than how this whole war is going to be concluded?

Because Some People Just Don't Care Or Have No Morals.
But truly one could say the same for on here as your question.
Some were asking ," Who will get Anna's baby?" While other asked," Why Is There No Seat Belts On Bus?"

Now you go back,see just who received more answers!
You will be surprised to see just really where some people's thoughts, and concerns were.
It's wasn't the most important question /s. Some people not all.

Because the only thing on the news is bloodshed or gossip. So, to get a break from violence people listen to gossip. If the media would report the good we are doing around the world you'd see people with a different attitude.

I dont Think People Care about celebrities lives however following celeb's lives lets people take an escape from reality! like real news... such as war famine,global warming and poverty.

Because most world matters are depressing. On the other hand, celebrities live the lives they desire to live. They have the "dream life." Also, people are very shallow and have simply lost hope.
