Having a shower for children after the 1st makes it seem like a gift grab. Because it is a second child, you should have all the main necessities (high chair, crib, etc.), and anything you don't have, you should be able to provide for your child, as opposed to all your friends providing for your child.

It's perfectly fine to have a baby shower in the sense that you will be celebrating the upcoming birth of another child, and want to have a day to celebrate with all your friends. But you should specify on the invitation, no gifts. Unless it's a second child with a different father (in which case, his family may want to buy all kinds of stuff) or the kids are really far apart in age, you shouldn't register anywhere. People will likely buy you things anyway, since everyone loves to shop for a baby, but it will be more things like clothes, keepsakes, etc, rather than things like swings, high chairs, and all the baby gear you usually get at a first shower. You can also do a different twist on the shower - check out these sites (Lots of this also depends on who's hosting it!) Congrats!

That's totally up to the woman, and the people who would be throwing the shower. I've been to several showers where the woman was having a baby the same sex as her last one, but it was more diapers, wipes, things like that. Also, if there are several years between the kids, the woman may need new things again. Alot of people say "no" and that it's not proper ettiquette, but now-a-days people are throwing showers for everything under the sun. I see nothing wrong, you're celebrating a baby!

A woman can have a baby shower any time she is having a child.

Traditional etiquette will say no, but its modern days now and anything goes. Most people are going to assume you dont NEED anything and having a shower is basically asking for gifts. To ward those feelings off, I would suggest having a "baby celebration" as opposed to a shower and make sure the invitations say not to bring gifts, or in lieu of gifts, have them donate to something like the March of Dimes.

that's seen very unfavourable etiquette to have a bath for a 2d infant, until eventually they're more beneficial than 5 years aside. basically, apparently like a present grab in case you ask for gives you for each infant. yet an option decision is to have a "Sip and note" luncheon after the newborn is born. That way human beings get to fulfill the recent infant, and also you and your relatives and acquaintances nevertheless get to celebrate the recent infant without being anticipated to grant presents. sturdy success and congratulations!

Yes.....but it is considered VERY tacky!

Baby showers are supposed to be for a FIRST child only.
After that, you are assumed to have what you need----or at least be able to AFFORD to buy what you don't have.
