My last question was about breast feeding another woman's baby. Many answers warned about HIV and HEP. I've always gotten tested, even though I'm married and I trust my husband.

Where I am, the offer is there, but it is up to the individual to consent to it or not...I consented, even though I know that we are both ok, but for some reason, the midwife didn't circle the right bit on the blood test form, so when my results came back for that, I just had a sheet saying, in big capitals 'CONSENT NOT GIVEN'...good job I didn't really have my life on the line waiting for that result!

It is offered but can be refused. I had to sign something saying I understood I didn't HAVE to have it. I have always gotten tested too even though I trust my hubby too! But not all women do.

Everyone who is pregnant does get tested, but that doesn't mean they have to tell you the truth.
