My husband and I are starting a small business. We have a domain name and are looking for a good host. I know a little about web design and would like to have the flexibility to insert my own backgrounds, pics, etc. We may need to be able to have an option in the future for our customers to pay invoices online via credit card, etc. We are looking for something affordable and would prefer a free trial. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!

You could build your website from your home computer, then get a web hosting account for about $5 a month from limeserver.com (They usually offer a 30day money back guarantee). You could then upload the website onto the server. Doing things like inserting your own background and pictures can be done when you are building your website. If you want your customers to pay for services through your website, then I would recommend integrating online payment tools from an online payment services like paypal or 2checkout into your website. The online payment company would handle all your company's card transactions. This would be a cheaper option.
Or I could help you do everything, even build the site for an affordable price.

I love the option of PhotoShow.com under Star for their Deluxe package. This gives me the options to download close up pictures set to music on eBay. The start up fees for packages are upfront.

The downside to this: It takes allot of time to download the pictures unless your on high speed. I spent 12 hours on just putting my presentation together for a wedding dress and still no bidders! Even though, I logged on with the most attractive Ad does not mean you will make the sell.

A Lesson learned. I do like the graphics and my family loves my videos. It interfaces nicely with EBay keep the video short people don't like to see long films and just know after the video ends it kick them off line. Upsetting to some. I am trying to work that glitch out.
