Hi I am an Aussie and I m supposing that you are American. We do not have nearly half the population that you guys do. We only have 1500 troops deployed to Iraq. Our main military issues are helping our neighbours who are Indonesia (u may have heard about the big plane wreck) Aussies are heavily involved in that as well as Fiji and Papua New Guinea which has a lot of civil unrest we do have lots of troops that help keep the peace in those areas. Our Cyclone/ Hurricane weather is not nearly as fierce as that of the usa. However, we have a horrid time with bushfires in the summertime.

You'd hear a lot more about Australia if you lived there. The media in every country tend to focus on what is of interest to their readers and audience.

Er, what about that cyclone or whatever it was that caused a bunch of flooding last week?
Also, America's newscasters/reporters can't even cover everything going on in the U.S.
