Hey, i need help. In my seminary class each student has to teach a section of the D&C. Mine is Section 103. (D&C 103)
I need help understanding it and good principals that are in it. I can only have 3 principals and i need some kind of object-lesson-thing that'll go with it.
Thanks!

Don't worry, I am LDS, so this will all be church sposored doctrine.

To start off, I would base my lesson on having faith in God during life's trials. This revelation was took place during a time when the saints who had moved to Zion, or Jackson County, Missouri, were being persecued harshly by others. This even escalated into violence against the church. Even the law couldn't help them because most of the judges and sheriffs and even the state leaders were anti-Mormon. In this revelation, the Lord calms the minds of the saints by saying that they will ultimately prevail. He then calls a group of bretheren to go to Missouri and help support the saints there. This group was called Zion's Camp and was led by Joseph Smith and other main church leaders.

Principles:

1. The Lord will never leave us during our trials and if we have faith in him and keep his commandments, he will help us overcome them. (see verses 7-9)

2. Don't be afraid of what the world thinks of you or does to you. The Lord will bless you if you still hold on to what you believe in spite of what the world thinks. (see verses 27-28, it talks about laying down your life, but I don't think we need to go that extreme, but who knows, he'll bless us if we do )

3. The Lord is waiting to bless us and all we need to do is pray and ask him for help. He knows what we need more that we know ourselves (see verses 31 and 35)

As for an object lesson, what you could do is have three boxes (this goes with the second priciple), a gold box, a silver box and a cardboard box. Put a candybar or some other prize in the cardboard box. Have a student come to the front and pick a box. If they pick the gold or silver, show them that nothing is in them (or put something gross in them) and have them sit down. Keep going until someone picks the cardboard. Let them have the prize inside. This goes with principle 2 because it shows that what's on the outside (which the world values) isn't always what's the best (what the Lord values, in this case humility, like the humble cardboard box)

So I hope this helps and I hope you do well on your lesson. Good Luck!
