I ended up using mirror mastic and have a single j clip for support until glue dries. Crossing my fingers. Hope I don't hear the mirror crash.

find the wall studs by tapping or by using a cheap tool called a stud finder. use screws at least 2 inches long into the studs. use wire behind the mirror attached to a couple of small screws in each side about 1/4 of the way down from the top. use a drill a little smaller than the screws for all the holes so you don't strip screw heads or crack the mirroe frame. good luck, oh, and lastly...ask a woman if it hangs straight

I would not use glue or mastic as the pro's suggested. You would ,in reality, be attaching to the paper covering of the dry wall and that does not seem too substantial. Do as others suggested and hang from a stud, also, If you decide later to remove the mirror you won't severely damage the wall.

If possible paint the wall before you hand the mirror you can just paint the area that you are going to cover. When it is dry tape the back of the mirror using a good two way tape(3m makes a good one) and then put some blobs of non acetic silicone in about 4 or 5 spots. The tape will keep the mirror on the wall until the silicone sets. If you use any other glue or normal silicone it will eat away at the back of the mirror and you will end up with black spots.

You must screw the hangers to the vertical studs which are centered at 16". You can use either a stud finder or use a hammer to tap lightly on the drywall and listen for the sound differential to locate the stud.
