Not like this may be any better, but my father's name is Emmanuel, and people also call him Manue....French though. Just thought I'd help! :)

If you love hearing Emmanuel than that's what you should call the baby...no need to use a nickname at all.

My friend's name is Emmanuel and we call him E-man.! It's stuck too, when people try actually calling him Emmanuel he won't respond, and it's not on purpose. He's just used to E-man. HA HA!
