For a single string repair, it would take less than $3 if the guitar store sells single strings and if you do it yourself. If you want them to do it, they might charge you labor and depending on the store it will range from 5-10 bucks.

If you want to change all of the strings at once (which I recommend because I do that even if 1 string breaks so it gives all of the strings the same feeling) a pack of strings shouldn't cost more than 5 or 6 bucks and if you pay more, you're either getting elixers (which are around 10-15 bucks) or you're getting ripped off, and labor would be around 10 dollars or so. I always change the strings myself because I have a certain way of winding my strings and I have a certain length I cut off before winding it that I like. But if you're comfortable with paying a little extra for a guaranteed job, then it wouldn't cost more than 15 or 20 dollars.

You can buy just the one string. To remove the old one, unwrap from the tuner knob. This is an easy fix. The new one is threaded thru the hole on the pick up and drawn to the tuner knob...be careful to thread it in the same direction as the other 2 knobs on that side. Then just tighten it to wrap it up...when you get it on,you'll have to kind of over stretch it a bit, because it won't stay in tune unless you play with it a bit. I do the same thing with my banjo.A set of strings can cost anywhere from 6 to 20 dollars depending on what sound you are searching for...but there are always economy types.Have fun and keep on pickin'!

You can get a set from 6 to 10 $. Some guitar repair shops will sell single strings, but a general music shop will not ordinarily sell them unless they are in a set. You have to ask them, and see.
