I am looking for an island located in the Mediterranean Sea for, essentially, a homestead. Does anyone know of a good island that is less than about 60 acres, is politically unimportant (relatively unpopulalted), is in an area where it can receive rainfall, and has at least the capability of supporting fertile soil? You needn't research all of these requirements, if indeed you intended to do so. Instead, the most important requirement is size.

Thank you

Can't tell you much about homesteading, but you CAN buy islands in the Med. Try:

>St. George's Island 23 acres EUR €1 500 000
>Ionian Sea Island 33 acres EUR €1 170 000

or try:

>Carbonera Island 2.3 acres (in the lagoon of Venice) EUR €4 500 000
>Gallinaro Island 30 acres (price on request)

Or try:

>Isla de sa Ferradura 14 acres EUR €32 990 000

Bring your pocketbook to this dreamland! Happy hunting!

I believe that all the islands in the Medit have been populated and are 'taken'. It would surprise me if you found one that would do for homesteading. You couldn't be the first to think of it!!

And, PLEASE use spell checker. . .
