I like this guy named Chris and he is really nice and funny. But my other friends don't like him. I don't know why.
I really want to go out with him, but don't want to face the criticism my friends might give me. I want to stay friends with both of them without the harsh feelings.
People may say then their not really your friends but they are there for me when i really need it. They support me, but maybe not this time. I don't know what to do. Help me!!

Go listen to Avril Lavigne's "Sk8r Boi" and decide which girl you'd rather be. ;)

Seriously, ask your friends why they don't like him. Are their reasons valid? Do they know information you don't, or are they just judging from rumors or trivial differences? Try to look at the information objectively - is there any reason that dating this particular guy would be negative, dangerous, or unhealthy for you? Then make your own decision, and tell your friends why. If they are really your friends, they will support you even if they think you're making a mistake.

On the real though, your the one going out or being friends w/him not them. True friends don't judge. Your not always going to like that ppl they hang with or the men they date and the same goes for you, they aren't always gonna like the ppl you hang w/and the guys that you date. So be yourself and don't take the criticism so harsh let them say what they need to say and move on. Remember it will reflect on you in the long run not them. Be a leader not a follower!!!!!

Actually (and I know you'll hate me for saying this) those people are sort of right. Your friends are allowed to disagree with you on certain things, but if they criticize you for thinking or feeling a certain way, they need to know that if they want to be friends with you, they need to agree to disagree.

if you really like the guy then, ur friends can learn to like him too. And if they really are ur friends then, they probably have their reasons, try to figure out what they are, and see what u want to do.
