It is very common to be somewhat dialated at this point. Your body is preparing for the labor and some women dialate as part of this. I was dialated to THREE for the entire 8th & 9th month of my 1st pregnancy. As long as your cervix hasnt softened (not effaced), you are safe to be dialated right now. Its the combination of effacement and dialation in which labor starts.

At 37 weeks your baby has excellent chances of having no health issues if he/she was born right now. Each baby is different, however. I went into labor at 36 weeks and my 2nd daughter had a lung infection and was jaundiced and had to spend her 1st week in the NICU. With my middle child, she was born at 37.5 weeks and was healthy and perfect and we took her home the next day.

Relax now since you wont get the chance to here soon. :)

Your baby is fuly developed from 36 weeks. In the last 4 weks your baby will be laying down fat and gaining weight. If born now you baby would be considered as full term.

As for being 1cms dialated, you are noted deemed as being labour until approx 3-4 cms dialated.

But if you are getting regular pains say every 5 to 10 mins that last for more than 40secs, then contact your maternity ward immediatly.

Goodluck to you and enjoy your newborn when he or she arives, they are a joy x

Both of my little ones were born at 37 weeks and neither of them had any lung problems at all. If you went into labor they might give you a shot of something to make the lungs develop a little quicker but that is it. Most babies are fully developed and very capable of breathing on their own at 37 weeks.

Yes it is. Ive always heard they want you to get ot at least 37 weeks so....I had my first son at 34 weeks and he was pretty much fully developed. His lungs werent 100% but he was only in the hospital 2 weeks and most of that was because he couldnt regulate his own temperature.
But yes if you were to have your baby now everything should be just fine....

You can be at 1 cm for a month or more. The baby is viable (can survive outside of the womb) with a little help now, but you really need to get a little closer to your due date and the 40 week mark, just to make sure.

Babies who are born at 37 weeks have an excellent chance of survival. Unfortunately, the last thing to develop is the lungs, so he'll have to spend some time in the NICU.

your baby is safe and fully developed... it's always better to have a 40 week full term baby but its not usafe at all... if your baby is ready then your baby is ready... you may be more pregnant than the doctors predicted you to be... your due date may have been off ... but if you know you are dialated ad your doctor didnt tell you that there was any trouble do not fret... you will be fine and so will your little one... good luck

Ummm, yea in my view he sounds like a quack... you waiting 2 more beneficial weeks received't make a distinction in any respect. particular your little ones are close at the same time, yet I actually have a neighbor who had little ones that close at the same time 4 circumstances lol and the finest one is the in undemanding words one which got here early at 38 a million/2 weeks, some thing else all made it to 40 weeks! It sounds want to me, as a lot as I hate to imagine this... it truly is he out for money, because even in case your infant's lungs are evolved or no longer at 36 weeks the newborn continues to be seen untimely. more beneficial stuff should be finished to the newborn... so more beneficial money for the physician. i know this because I basically those days took my Lamaze classification and my instructor went into pre-time period exertions including her daughter at 36 weeks... or maybe inspite of the actuality that her lungs were evolved she replaced into nevertheless In NICU for per week and a 1/2 for being untimely! sturdy success and follow your mommy instincts in this one! you know what's healthier on your infant!
