Yes, it can. When I was younger I noticed the more I was stressed the more my period would be late.
If it gets more abnormal, seek more answers or see your Gyn.

Depression can definitely cause your period to change and all sorts of things to change in your body.
Exercise can help both problems, go for a walk.
Eat better, drink more water.
Take in less caffeine; no soft drinks, coffee or chocolate. Alcohol and caffeine contribute to depression, especially right before your period.

And you could be feel down or moody because your period is within the next week. That's normal; it's the hormones.
Hope things get better!

Both emotional and physical stress (such as a serious illness or recovery from surgery) have been associated with hair loss. It is possible that stress induces hormonal changes that are responsible for the hair loss, since hair loss is a known consequence of other hormonal changes due to pregnancy, thyroid disturbances, or even from taking oral contraceptives. Nervous habits, such as scalp rubbing or hair twisting or pulling may also be responsible for hair loss. These habits may be responses to psychological stress in some people and may be another cause of stress-related hair loss. The hair loss from hormonal changes often disappears after a period of months to two years. As with other stress-related symptoms, learning and practicing effective stress-management techniques can help reduce the severity of the symptoms.

Both can throw off your cycle. If you have recently started your period, it can take a long time before you are regular. I can remember getting periods some months and not others. Other possibilities are not eating right, losing or gaining weight quickly, and excessive exercising. If you skip another period or if you are really concerned, visit your doc. Don't worry, though.

Yes they do and when you are stressed or depressed you are also neglecting other things that contribute to your inability to ovulate such as eating right and excersize. Make sure to get away from that guy or that friend that are reaking havok on your mental and physical health!

it sure can. Also, athletes often don't have periods because their bodies are under too much stress to waste the energy a period takes. Good luck & I hope you solve your problems.
