i did nothing to mess up the sound. i just turned it on and no sound, it was working yesterday and now nothing. so i hooked up speakers, no sound. then headphones, no sound. then i checked the sound options to make sure master volume was up and mute was off and it was all fine. i do not know what to do please help

Check sound options, if they are disabled or not there you need to check your sound card and sound driver(s). If your sound card is disable in your device manger in Control Panel then Enable it and restart computer. If you dont have the driver, look at the stickers/labels on you laptop, there it should tell you what brand it is and download the driver from the manu. website. If all fails, replace sound card.

try reinstalling the sound driver if that doesn't work your sound card has failed
