i think so...its kinda of a dissapointment for these small schools to win their conference tourney and get all excited and then be sent to the play in game and lose with out getting the real tournament feeling.

Yes it is stupid and cheapens the whole process. If the Ivy league does not want to have conference tournament then make them earn an at large bid if they want to get in. It is as simple as that. But they play a strict schedule blah blah blah. Well what is fair for one is fair for all. Play a conference tournament then or do away with the lowest rated conferences automatic bid for that year. If that happens to be the Ivy League, too bad so sad you don't get a bid unless you earn it, boola boola.

However I have heard that the NCAA in the future would like to expand the number of teams considerably, so be prepared to have the whole thing even more cheapened.

I think as one game by itself its pointless- either you get rid of it, or you make it one game in each bracket and expand it to 68 teams and play the games on Tuesday and Wednesday. I think it would improve the exposure of the smaller conferences by enabling those teams to win more tournament games instead of being 15 16 seed fodder

I agree. They should just eliminate one of the at-large bids.
