Is there a way to decrease the attack of insect monsters or possibly remove them from play. I'm dueling someone soon and I need to know if there's a card out there that can do this. Thanks.

The simplest thing you can do is use Insect Barrier. Its a Continuous Spell card that prevents your opponent from attacking with any Insect monsters. In the early days of Yu-Gi-Oh it was popular to use it with DNA Surgery. Honestly, Insects aren't very powerful. They have some good support cards but their ATK power is weak overall. Also, Insect decks have no way to win other than attacking so if you kill all the big monsters your opponent will die easily. Prickle Fairy is the biggest threat in any insect deck. As long as its on the field you can't attack any Insect monster AND any monster that battles with it is switched to Defense mode at the end of Damage Step. Add in its 2000 DEF and its a recipe for trouble. Put in cards like Snatch Steal or Enemy Controller because if your opponent gets 2 out you can't attack any Insect monsters and you'll have to go through two 2000 DEF defenders.
