I have been so busy this winter season with trying to finish up high school and all that so I haven't been able to drive up to the mountains to shred. But i'm hoping to go on the 28th and 29th of March because Donner Ski ranch is having a 10 dollar lift ticket day. However i'm a bit concerned that there won't be any snow since we've been having super hot weather...like 80 degrees. ( i know it's insane) I'm in cali by the way. So anyone else in cali...do you know?

yeah, our temperature is really hot lately. but there is still snow, not for very much longer, maybe, but it still exists, depending on the part of California. if you want to be snowboarding later into the year, go to mount hood. they have snow year round. or you could do something to stop global warming. I'm not trying to sound like a hippie or anything, but its a real problem, and that's why its been like 80 degrees in the winter. Its serious stuff, and at the rate its going, in 20 or 30 years, there won't even be snow.

I live in Cali. I was recently around Oakhurst, CA and although it was warming up, there was still some snow left. It was melting, but the weather can change a lot in a few weeks. You can hope that the warm weather will pass and it will rain again. Ski resorts usually can make some snow as well. I'm also hoping for a decent amount of snow since I'm finally going up to snowboard this weekend.

I work at a Northern California ski resort and yeah, it's warm up here but we've still got plenty of snow. We are planning on staying open until at least April 15th and I'd bet that most Tahoe resorts are planning the same.

It takes awhile for snow to melt, especially snow packed-down by the grooming equipment at the resorts.

And lets not forget that this is California and some wacky things can happen. We got 9 feet of snow last year in April.

As someone mentioned, Mt Hood is all year. There are a few places like that, but you'll usually end up paying more. Camp of Champions in Vancouver is one, but is on the pricey end of things. Typically these places have summer camps, but the often have options to pay for just access to the runs, which is obviously cheaper.

Check out their site: http://campofchampions.com/parkcoaching/comparecamps.asp

That link is for the "compare camps" feature, which will inform you about some other places that have snow in the summer. Hell, just go to AK.
