She has to let him down easy! If she doesn't tell him soon enough then she might lead him to believe that she does like him, then when he finds out that she doesn't it WILL ruin their friendship! That recently happened to me! Just tell him quickly!

She needs to be honest with him, otherwise if he gets led on that will hurt him more and cause a more serious wound in the relationship. He'll be hurt to know the truth, but it is better now than later.

But they say this is why it is rare that a male/female friendship is genuine... because one will always like the other. And often the other person involved is just being fake to get in one's pants!

Tell her to say this to the guy, "We have a really great special friendship and I don't want to ruin it. I don't have feelings for you in that way, but I need you as a friend." It works well, their relationship might be a little rocky and awkward as friends for a while but after that it will work out great.

She doesn't get a choice. It will hurt more if she waits to tell him. He will decide if he still wants to be friends. All she can do is be honest about how she feels. Tell him that she values his friendship and would really hate to lose that but that she doesn't have romantic feelings for him. It will hurt. But if he was honest about his feeling for her she owes it to him to be just as honest about her feelings.

Just tell her to be honest about it. Sometimes honesty hurts, but it's better than beating around the bush. I hope things work out for your friend.

wow i have gone through this exact same thing a couple times. what i did was tell him that i didnt feel the same way and i didn't want our relationship to be ruined or changed. you have to be very straight forward because you dont want any mixed signals or anything. you have to get your point across... but as nice as possible

Well, as soon as he doesnt want her anymore she is going to start liking him..........its the way it ALWAYS happens.
So my suggestion..........tell her to MAKE SURE that there is NO WAY that she could ever like him and just be straight with him...........that she just likes him as a friend.

one of my sort of friends asked me out and i just said no thanks (in a really nice way) so she should just say no if he asks her out...but it might be different b/c i don't really hang out with this guy and don't care about him that much...lol
