Where is it safer to hide in a thunderstorm while your in a park? A car or under a tree?
I'm trying to help a lil boy who lives next door with his homework! Thanks!!!

a car because if lightning hits a tree it also can go right thru you..if your ina car your somewhay protected

It is best to not be caught in the storm in the first place. If you cannot find an enclosed building, the safest place to be would be inside a car, without touching any of the metal on the inside. A car has rubber tires and is not likely to conduct a lightning strike.
A tree, since it is higher off of the ground, is more likely to be stuck by lightning, sending electricity through the nearby ground.

In your car. Thunderstorms can have lightning, and you NEVER want to be under a tree when there is lightning. Your car's electricity helps defer the electricity from the lightning, so you'll be safer.
