Yeah, all guys are different.
Some guys will still flirt and keep eye contact with you for long periods of time if they have a girlfriend. Keep in mind, this doesn't usually mean he doesn't love his girlfriend. Guys cannot help themselves. A majority of them can't, at least.
So the best way to find out is to ask.

He will never want to take you anyplace where there's a chance someone who knows him will see you two together.
If you suspect he has a girlfriend or wife INSIST on going somewhere close to where he lives to eat, drink or do something. If he puts up terrific resistance it's pretty sure he's got you as the number 2 slot.

Ask him. Be like: "Hey Mr. Hotpants. You got yourself a lady?" After he stops laughing, he'll tell you. Well, either that or he'll run for the nearest exit. But what the hell, you only live once, right?
