You need to reboot; you're having hard drive failures. You probably had a virus.
If that's not the case than your motherboard crashed... You can still save your hard drive if you get a new motherboard; take it to the local flagship store (apply, hp, sony, gateway)

The blue screen is what is known as the blue screen of death, its called this because it means something is very wrong with your computer and well if you just ignored it then frankly your computer if prob dead beyond rescue . . . The blue screen is windows way of telling you that you need to get your computer fixed because a component is dead or dying, what ever part has gone has completly died now, it is impossible to say without looking at it what the problem is, it could be the motherboard or the cpu has gone, that are the two most likely problems, you need to take it to be looked at, but if its your cpu or mobo then ur in for a very hefty repair bill

You might have to reformat the whole computer. What I suggest is trying to get on it through safe mode and get as much important data off of it as possible. Save it to an external hard drive, cd's, or find a host and server and upload it all. Then find your boot CD and delete all your partitions. Make sure you boot off the disc or you will not be able to delete your partitions. Then reinstall windows and put all the important data back onto your computer. I suggest you find a good security program when you get it back up to help prevent any other problems.
NOTE: Reformat deletes everything on your computer that you have not backed up and saved. So make sure you have a way of saving what you need before you do it.

check that the cooling system isn't full of dust or blocked causing the laptop to over heat.
failing that try some different RAM (memory) in it.
oh also try removing the battery and power lead, leaving it for 30 seconds or so then plug it all back in and try again.
If its a toshiba sat pro or similar try holding the power button in for 4 seconds then try starting again

You may have just lost your hard drive. Not sure what type of laptop you have, but on some models this is typical. Also are you using a battery? You may need to charge it.
If you do need to replace the hard drive, it is fairly easy and not too expensive on eBay.
Good luck!
