Can someone give me very specific directions on how to get from the Manila airport to Angeles City using the bus terminal? Would it be cheaper than taking a private car there (private car costs 2400PHP)? Do I have to take a taxi from the airport to the bus terminal? How much will my taxi cost? Which bus terminal do I go to? How much will the fare be to Angeles? Thanks

Ok, since your needs are not really that specific enough, we'll try to manage.

First, which Manila airport are you talking about? If its from an international flight or a PAL domestic flight, then you'll be using the Centennial airport. At the Centennial, all you'll have are Airport Taxis with their own fixed rates (more expensive than the regular rates) to certain destinations. If you're in a flight other than those mentioned, you'll be disembarking at the old domestic airport. They also have Airport Taxis there but the difference is right outside is a lane where you can get regular cabs.

Since you mentioned Angeles City and not Dau. The bus terminal to look for is Philippine Rabbit. They have a terminal at Avenida and Balintawak. Avenida is nearer the airport. Taxi ride from the airport to Avenida is around P150 regular, around P300 airport taxi. The exact address and schedule of Philippine Rabbit is:

PHILIPPINE RABBIT AVENIDA
819 Oroquieta St., Avenida
Tel. No. (02) 734-98-36
Schedule: (aircon) 24 hours daily
One-way Fare to Angeles: P119 (aircon)

The private car hire of around P2400 that you mentioned applies for car hire other than those from the airport. Airport Car hires charge relatively higher. Travelers to Angeles City I know usually take a taxi ride from the airport to Makati Commercial Center (P150 regular, P300 airport taxi approx) and then either negotiate with regular cab drivers there for that P2400 hire. Otherwise, they take a regular car hire.

I think you can do the math from there. One more thing you have to note, there are not taxis in Angeles so if you're planning to move around Angeles or not sure of the exact destination, then a car hire will be worth considering.

At the airport there are taxis that will try to rip you off and charge 1000 pesos to go to the bus terminal. Get a metered taxi and it shouldnt cost more than 150 pesos to the bus terminal. The bus terminal I should tell you is a mess there and i dont know how people find where they are going. You pretty much just have to find your bus and you pay for the ticket mid ride. I dont know the exact fare to angeles but i cant imagine it would be more than 200 pesos.

Do you want to get there nice and safe?

Go to the website for Margarita station. Go to the airport shuttle and book a reservation. You can ask Margarita station to order you a car for about 1,800 pesos, with a driver who will also bring you cold drinks if u request that.

He will meet you at the airport - just provide your flight details and your arrival time. The driver will be wearing a black margarita t-shirt with a card with ur name when you get there.

It is the safest way you will get there. Ive been there now 6 times and have used margarita every time. And have never had any bad experiences. Might cost you the equivalent of 30 USD for a 2 hour drive - but you will get there to your hotel nice and safe.

also you can go to Swagman hotel and they run a bus service to their hotel in Angeles City. The trouble if this is that they only run it like once/twice a day early morning and late in the evening (atleast those were correct two years ago) Also if you have a hotel room in AC talk them they usually run a service for relatively cheap as well. the bus service ( ie grayhound ) is very slow and not very reliable.
