They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.
They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did").
They are not shy in letting it be known what they need.

Refuse to follow orders or directions
Get bored rather easily with assigned tasks
Are rather creative

Ah, you are describing the traits of Indigo children.
And yes, I can relate to many of the traits that you mentioned.
Not all, but many.
This society does not embrace Indigos with the grace they deserve, do they.

Or as we Native Americans say, Children of the Sun. My son is blessed with these charactaristics.
