Saying that the asker broke the rule?
What about them? I saw the majority of the reporters and they only have twenty something points. You wouldn't get points deducted unless yahoo thinks that you broke the rules.

Engaging in chatting or personal correspondence for asking people if they liked pie and what flavor? That's not even chatting or personal correspondence.
Since they're reporting freely, I guess they didn't read community guide line #13. If you report and if the question or an answer that you reported does follow the community guide lines the your points would be deducted instead.

PS: Mine is clearly a question and is not insulting anyone since I never mentioned any particular names(that's even according to the actual law when you criticize racists it's not insulting anyone). This question have followed all 20 community guide line rules.

Because, most stupid people get mad when they see an answer or question that they can tell is intelligent, and they get mad. Or they just being stupid, and think this makes them cool. Alot of the answers that get reported or just answers the person did not want to hear. For some reason they think getting rid of your answer will somehow make them feel better or make them right...

Your guess is as good as mine! I gave an answer one time that was really good, and I listed all the sources trying to help this person out, I had like 5 votes on mine and this other person had 3, well they reported mine, then there answer got chosen as the best for the over all community vote!

Because they are *******. I have gotten reported for pointing out that their question is in the wrong section. WTF? If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. They act like little bitches, that deserve less respect than a piece of gum on the street. Screw them. I am not going anywhere.

I hear word has it the reporting method is being revamped soon.... again.
My idea is to have a way of knowing who reported.. which really isn't to hard to follow back, and one account per ISP # per month.

Some people are more easily offended than others. And, sadly, I'm sure that there are people who report others because they think it's funny.
