Lawrenceville and Exeter are both schools with great prestige, and their affiliated organization (the Ten Schools Organization) encompasses all other schools in the US as far as academics go. This fact allures many hopefuls who try their personal best to get in, leading to even qualified candidates to fail. However, if you volunteer, get in the 97th percentile in ssat and do many other extra curricular activities while being a stellar student, chances are, you will get in. Also, do not underestimate interviews and essays, as they are very pivotal in your application process

and may I add that Exeter on the whole carries much more prestige and opportunities than Lawrenceville. therefore, if you are looking for an easier goal, perhaps lawrencville would be your choice.

here are also websites you can go to for information:
http://www.exeter.edu
http://www.lawrenceville.org/

hope it helped
