Do goths need to wear make-up?

Wow...How can you expect to get a single answer? Everybody's different. One person may dress gothic and wear makeup while another doesn't. Who says they "need" to? That's like saying...do all blondes wear jeans? Or do all nerds need to wear glasses? you can't fit everyone into a certain label! People are people!

No, being goth is something that is internal, so it doesn't matter if a goth wears make-up or not, they're still goth. That said, most goths (at least girl goths) wear make-up, as an extension of themselves, just as most people use clothing to express their inner selves.

goths should wear whatever they want. its not like only goths wear this or that. being goth is about what you believe and how you express it--so whatever makeup (if any) helps u express ur goth ideas then wear it!

Uh, I think that is more of a personal decision.
Personally...I don't go anywhere without my eyeliner.
But I am not one to wear white face makeup either....my pale skin is the result of avoiding the sun if possible. lol
As with choosing any makeup, use what you think looks good based upon your skin tone, features, and eye color.
Just don't go mall gothie mansonite...makes the rest of us look bad lol

purple eyeshadow, and black eyeliner... and sometimes dark purple lipstick
