Try eating right and drinking alot of water. Dont touch your face without washing your hands.
Stay away from high fat foods. I also recommend getting some sun, here and there. Some sun is great for your skin and helps dry pimples. That is not to say you are to become a sun GOD/Goddess, but we do need sunshine for our health in many ways.

Don't pick, don't pop, don't touch! You will make it worse if you touch your acne in any way other than exfoliating & cleansing. Have you tried Murad? When I first got acne, that is what I used. Then my skin became so sensitive, I couldn't use it anymore so now I use organic/all natural products, but my acne is much more controlled now. I would recommend you go to their site (http://www.murad.com) and find out where you can buy it other than online. I know that they carry it at Ulta 3. If you see a dermatologist, they're going to prescribe most likely some topical medications & maybe an antibiotic, but I don't think these are the best solutions because it's only going to "mask" the problem & I don't think that drugs are the answer as they produce side effects as well. Give Murad a shot. You have nothing to lose. And I do swear it worked for me for the first couple of years. If you notice that after some time it stops working for you (although I'm sure by this time your acne will not be as bad) I recommend you move to using all natural products. Hope that helps, because I know how devestating having acne is, and Proactiv didn't work for me either. Disappointing, but not the end of the world. There will be something out there that will help!
Also, studies show that consuming grains/bread causes acne, so try to eat as much raw foods as possible (other than raw meat) and low carbs. And drink a lot of water. This will certainly help!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having skin problems. I myself have been on an adventure of sorts trying to find the right things to cure my acne. I've found that a healthy diet of fruits and vegetable, lots of water and sun cure my skin much better then any medication although for me I want the clearest skin possible so I went to my doctor and she prescribed a topical treatment called Clindamycin Phosphate Gel by Fougera. It doesn't dry out my skin or cause any nasty side affects. I hope my comment helps you.
Sincerely, Caitlin

Not to be the bringer of bad news, but it could be hormone-related or inherited. If you are going through puberty your hormones go crazy and can cause breakouts. I recommend some B vitamins, a hormone test, and a good diet. Also, don't dry out our skin because this destroys the layer that helps fight off bacteria and retain moisture. Loss of moisture will trick your body into thinking it needs more moisture, and will produce more oil.

Honestly when I get zits i put some toothpaste on it before I go to bed so that it dries the zit out and its pretty much gone in 2 days. Make sure its not a gel toothpaste though. Also you can try rubbing hydrogen peroxide over it because that will dry them out too. Or if you have a very extreme case of acne go see your doctor, they can give you a prescription for some medicine to get it cleared up. Good luck

I'm sorry to hear you have this problem!
I have it as well, It's so terrible.
On another note, you can try using baking soda,
Just wash your face with a decent amount daily.
Rinse and keep your face clean.
Another thing you may want to try,
Is Pore-Fection ... Their mud masks & acne medication
works like wonders! It leaves the face with little oil,
It gives your skin a great vibrant feel as well.
:)
You can find the Pore-Fection at wal-greens, Bath & Body Works, Wal-Mart & other fine retailer stores.
Trust me, It works ...
At least give it a try.

I finally got rid of this problem and my skin looks great. But it took couple of years until my skin got really clean off of all of zits, black heads and also tiny scars that came with it.
It would be hard to suggest certain brand of skin care simply because it is ALWAYS pick-n-choose ("Arbonne" and "Body Shop", in my case), but the most important are the steps that you need to take to ensure you skin will get better. Here is what I had to do (and am still doing):
1. Lots of water! Drink it, wash your face with it, swim in it and also carry a little spray container with you and from time to time spray your face throughout the day to "refresh" your face.
2. Instead of soap bar use liquid face wash that would not contain any alchohol.
3. Face and body scrub are girl's best friends!!! You can even make your own by adding small amount of grinded oats into your face wash or even into a non-fat yogurt. If you desire to do so, a cup of yogurt should last you for almost a week, just do not forget to store it overnight in a refrigerator.
4. Masks are excellent weapont to fight skin problems. I would suggest to make your own with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. But if you desided to use a mask, do not use face scrub that day.
5. after scrub or mask do not forget a toner, preferably non-alchohol, as you will need to close your pores after deeply cleaning your face. You can make it yourself by adding aloe juise to cooled down boiled water.
6. Always moisterize your face before putting base make-up on it. I know that Mary Kay for example has "tinted" moisterizers that you could check if you like.
7. And also very important to take vitamines every day. There are a lot of them on the market specifically for face and skin. I have a lot of ideas for specific brands, but as I mentioned earlier it is always "pick-and-choose".
Basically these are the steps that helped me to get rid of my skin problems. Hope it will help you too.
For more ideas, please, check http://www.makeyourowncosmetics.com/
there are tonns of great recepies for almost every part of human body.
And if you want, please, contact me for specific advise on brands.
Good luck.

I used to use proactive also but it never worked for me! I finally found something that works for me though but I have to use it twice a day. I use St Ives Apricot Scrub black head and oily skin formula twice a day and I usually try to use it in the shower because your pores open up!! It also helps to wash your face after you have been sweating alot. I had to use it a couple of days before I saw results though!!

i take advantage of Infallible by making use of Loreal (expenditures around $10-11), the lightest coloration, as I even have very honest dermis. It would not seem orange to me in any respect. the only real "translucent" powder i've got ever got here across is Cornsilk, yet i'm uncertain they make it anymore. i won't be able to locate it, besides. Now i take advantage of the Loreal unfastened powder, or Maybelline shine unfastened - however the Maybelline does tend to darken the start slightly.

Hi, Ashlee
I'm sorry to hear that pro-active didn't work for you, I had good luck with it myself. I found something cheaper to use that really works is St.Ives Apricot Medicated Scrub. It has Salicylic Acid in it that you can feel working on your skin. I'm sure you will see results in a couple of days.
