Most likely, it is because of hemorrhoids; however, it's also a sign of possible other problems. There are some OTC medications that can be tried for about seven to ten days. If there is no improvement, then I would suggest seeing a doctor. The OTC medication that is best is, Preparation H Suppositories.

Safest solution is to consult your physician as soon as possible. As they may take a while to diagnose the problem too.
If there is no fever or feeling of lethargy then it might not be serious.(May just be bleeding from anus)

it can mean cancer, but it can also mean he just ripped his skin a little or has a lil harmless internal bleeding thats really close to the hole, but cancer is a consideration
