Well what exactly is the scam?

You have to pay them for information (such as employers who are hiring) that you could have found online for free.
You pay them money and get a craft kit and make your product. When you send it in, they claim its not up to their standards so they cant pay you for it, and then they turn around and sell it for a profit.
Primerica is a scam because they claim they can give you a job in insurance sales. The problem is that when you sign up, you have to pay $200 for an insurance license and they also ask for your personal contacts (friends and family) whom they then go and sell insurance too, leaving you to find other strangers to sell to. And the insurance is often more expensive than other companies.
The Nigeria scams are the long sad emails claiming a relative died and they left a few million bucks but they need your help and your bank account to move it out of the country. Then they keep asking for more money to pay fees, taxes, lawyers etc etc, until you run dry. Then they disappear. There never was any huge amount of money.
Another variation is if you are selling something online, they will often contact you and say they want to buy it (whetever you are selling) but they only have a check for an amount that is several thousand dollars more than your product. They ask you to cash the check, keep what you need and send the rest back to them. A week later you find out the check they sent you was a fraud, and you get charged with theft because of the money you "stole" when you cashed their check.
Those are some examples of scams.

A scam is really a business you get into and don't get anything out of it and lose money and don't make any. This is a wide open question and you will get a lot of answers. Some companies ask for a lot up front, watch out for these. If you do put any money into a work at home job, just check out your resources and the company before you jump right in. I found with the data entry jobs they ask for too much up front. The companies that ask for little are not always bad. It's well worth the company to ask for a little, especially if you get some sort of business kit with it to start you on your journey. I've tried several of these companies and have only had success with one, one that I will stay with forever because it works for me and my family. It's not just the data entry work at home jobs where some of them are asking for money upfront.
I don't know if you have ever seen ads for the test for the post office, and one time I called one of the numbers to find out more about it and they said something about money. I said thank you for their time and hung up. I then called a friend who worked for (and has since retired from) the post office and she told me that it was a scam.
I wish I could find some legitimate (and meaning no money involved) work at home type jobs.
I also learned that for many of these work at home jobs you need to have a high speed connection to the Internet for which I don't have right now.

Companies are claiming easy money or get rich quick and 9 out of 10 times that just isnt true = SCAM!

They ask you to pay them money before you get the information from them that's what the scam is.
