Has anybody done the CIMA foundation course ? Looks like it costs about £2000 - is it worth it from a salary increase point of view ? I do M/I stuff now, the course looks pretty simple at that level so I don;t see what other benefits it would offer. And would there be any point if you didn't intend to continue with the full qualification ?

I wouldnt bother unless you plan on completing it, though a certificate of business accouting does look good on your CV and you can always tell an employer that you are planning on going finshing it, making you more employable. Doing the foundation level wouldnt really give you any pay icnrease per se, unless you were good at talking up the points to your boss. I have done it and that level is fairly easy. There are both pros and cons, so you really need to make a decision on weighing it up.

You would be better off getting a company to sponsor you for this. Pay for exams and study leave. Still worth being part-qualified. Though I doubt it's as easy as you think!
