mattzcoz - do you hold yourself to the same standards you request? If you did, by even 5%, you truly would understand science.
The question: Are we dealing with a hoax of unprecedented proportions from which pseudoscientists feed, literally, and for liberals to pawn this off as political fodder, blind to the reality that humans are not to blame for climatic change.

What's your question?
Sorry, I believe in science, not some talking heads on BBC.
How much of the factual/scientific data and pro and con conclusions have you read through, and how long have you been studying climatology?
EDIT
Sobriquet, yes, I do. Science is a process of research, testing, reporting, review, and consensus. No, they don't always get it right in the short term, but it's demonstrable that they do in the long term. No, I don't believe this is some liberal hoax, so, in the meanwhile, I'll weigh in with the vast majority of scientific opinion and my long-term interest in climatology.
Your edit goes much farther than your original question.
Regardless, global climate change is occurring, that's not debated by anyone I've heard of. Man-made causes are the only ones we can realistically address, and the consequences of climate change are catastrophic enough that the Department of Defense funded and published a research paper on the subject (2004 I believe), with special emphasis on national security.

My comment:
The thing the global warming skeptics don't want us to recognize is the coincidence of the greenhouse effect with whatever may be a primary driver of warming like the Sun. If we reach another geological thermal maximum period with the level of greenhouse gases we are pumping into the atmosphere, in addition to the increase of water vapor from warming, the earth will warm exponentially greater than any other period in the history of the earth! The earth will be unable to dissipate the thermal energy it receives from the sun, or whatever the primary driver of warming is.
If the earth is unable to naturally dissipate thermal energy to remain in a stable thermal equilibrium, it will melt (the sun is 20 million degrees).

First of all, this 'documentary' aired on Channel 4 (Britain's answer to Fox) not the BBC. The show's creator, Martin Durkin has a history of manipulating and mis-leading people in his programmes. I haven't seen this one, but I've already read reports that some of the scientists shown in it are talking about suing him for mis-representation.

have you seen "an incovenient truth" it was pretty compelling. Im not sure how a reasonable person can flatly deny global warming.
It definately happening, the debate is whether or not man is causing it. and again the documentary makes a compelling argument.
