I have been Republican since I first voted at 18 years old. The only time I ever voted for a Democrat ended up a huge mistake as his dealings ended up in my electricity bill being raised a full 75% last July. Never will I make that mistake again.
My problem has always been that although I basically find nothing attractive about the Democrat party line there are also a few things that the Repulicans always stick to that I do not favour. These include their stance against pro-choice and stem cell research.
Now the Republican party has a potential candidate who also does not completely follow the party line which many say will be his undoing and the reason he will not get the nomination. I see that.
Does anyone think that he may follow the likes of Lieberman (apologize for mispellings) and declare himself Independent?
If so, would you consider voting for him because he would not restricted by the party line?

Just for Jason:
I am a genealogist by trade, and you might be amazed at how many marriages there are between cousins. I guess that's where "kissing cousins" comes from. Marrying a first cousin is not going to result in two headed children (and it certianly decreases the amount of Christmas gifts you need to buy). Second cousin or further apart is better though.
If you family line has any ancestory in it with landed gentry and noblety much further back that when they get kinda gross. Brothers and sisters marrying...EWWWWW!!!

I think that the party will stand behind Rudy, unlike the Democrats with Lieberman. Rudy, provided he gets the nomination, might decide to run with someone much more conservative to appease the more conservative voters..

An independent can't win the election. A majority of voters declare for either a democrat supported candidate or republican.

And no I won't ever consider voting for an adulterer. It goes against all of my ethics.

I think we need an Independent or Third Party in the Oval.
