For many years after breaking my wrist I could always tell when it was going to rain. It would really hurt. Strange what barometric changes can do.

I don't know that people can actually predict it, but they can tell when the weather is changing due to the pressure in the air causing the air between your joints to change as well. Have u ever heard someone pop their knuckles? Same idea, they r releasing the air that protects the bones from grinding agains each other.

Barometric pressure is the weight exerted by the air around us. Rapidly falling barometric pressure generally signals the onset of stormy weather, and is believed to have a strong correlation with the potential for feeling aches and pains. Rising pressure may also affect some people.

Because they can. If there is about to be a thunderstorm or other bad weather occurance, I get a lot of BIG pain in my knees. I guess it has to do with the change in the atmosphere and the body is not catching up? I have no idea exactly why it starts to hurt.

The key fact is that all storms occur in low pressure periods. Since joints are sealed-in sacs (they are encased by the joint capsule), when the outside pressure drops, the joint sacs expand. If there is disease in the joint, they may then hurt. Some scientists contest this explanation.

change in temperature/humidity/wind. I get very achy and my arthritis acts up when it is cold. Your body swells and grows and shrinks and does all sorts of things depending on all forces, such as outsides ones like weather. Thing about, when your hot your fingers are usually bigger than when you are cold. So depending on what is going on in the atmosphere will effect your body and the way that it feels.
Hope that helps a little :)

It is due to the atmospheric pressure. During low pressure their joints start to ache because it starts to swell. Low pressure is also associated with rain and storms.
