No you don't have to cover up the cigarette smoke, all you have to do is put out a dish of White Vinegar over night close any doors to the room that you want to deodorize , do not add water to this Vinegar just straight neat vinegar will do, your home will smell fresh and clean by morning you can then take away the dish, and to keep it clean smelling put out a open container of Baking Soda and Kitty Litter this will absorb the smoke, you can also use activated charcoal that you buy in a pet store you make this up the same as you would with the baking soda and litter, do not use the clumping kind of litter use only regular litter for this tip. Put a few containers around the house to make it even sweeter smelling. You can also make up yourself a spray very inexpensively and easy on your breathing and invironment, by using a cleaned out spray bottle from some cleaner you have used up and making up a solution of one cup White Vinegar and two tablespoons Baking soda then fill the remainder of the bottle with warm water then spray around the room after you have been smoking it will make the smell disappear no will know you have smoked Good Luck !

Start with an air purifier.... you can get one as cheap as 30 bucks (wal-mart, target) Try opening up your windows to get some fresh air circulating through your house. Something that I have found that works pretty well is Renuzit Super Oder Neutralizer in the fragrance of Citrus Sunburst. It smells great, not over powering. I have tried many products, but those with a citrus scent usually works best. Also, when possible, wash your living room curtains, throw pillows, and blankets. smoke can cling to it and keep the smoke smell around.

Vodka in a spray bottle. Thoroughly saturate the affected garment with the vodka, and allow to air dry. Dont ask me how, but it does work. I've seen it on Mythbusters and tried it myself. Then afterwards, keep any kind of car airfreshner nearby, this will get the rest of the smell. The vodka gets almost ALL, but not quite all. So any cheap airfreshner will get the rest.

Rent an Ozone machine. Or call a restoration company like Servpro. They'll set it up and monitor it to make sure there are no problems with it.
