Because most people seem to be obsessed with American culture. I don't know why, people here in Canada sure as Hell are.

As an American, I can say that most all Americans do not have that attitude. In fact it is a very vocal minority of American that have that attitude. Most of these people have no knowledge of other cultures and societies.
For reasons that escape logic, world history is not taught in our schools, except for wars that the US participated in. There may be some political reasons behind this. These are the people that that believe places like Bethlehem and Jerusalem have not changed in 2000 years, and other idiotic things.
These are the people that think every one in the world wants to come to the USA. They tend to be egotistical and display a false national pride.
They can't seem to understand the concept of the Nacirema .. the backward Amarican, so rather than admit to the faults of our leadership and society, they assume the anyone else in th world is jealous of our society,

I agree with you. I think it comes from the educational system that generally teaches Americans to be ignorant of other cultures, especially if they are non white. History, the way it is taught in the states is so utterly biased that the prevailing, rampant, condescending attitudes of most Americans is something that they are raised with. No matter that the educational system in the US is considered sub par in comparison to many other countries around the world. It is constantly reinforced through the media and through political alliances made around the world. Meaning that the US only allies itself with countries that agree with the ideal that the only way of life that is the 'right' way of life is the American way of life. Also a lot of Americans remain ignorant of how they are even viewed around the world. They simply don't care. A lot of American viewers of this answer will take issue with this statement, still this is what I believe. In case you were wondering, I am an American.

America has got one good thing going for it.
It's a long way away.
The American way seems to be to visit far away places with strange sounding names.
And kill everything that walks so that their precious GAS (I think they mean petrol) prices don't go up.
In my options they are a crass loudmouthed money grabbing society run by a corrupt power seeking government. They really deserve one another.
They don't seem to feel safe unless they have a gun in their pocket.
They ought to put their own house in order before they enter other countries to force their flawed policies on peoples who don't want them there

Americans are lead to believe they are the best in the world problem is most of them have their heads so far up their own backsides they can only see crap. I lived their for three years and kissed the ground at gatwick when i returned, I swear if one more of them told me they had won the war I would not be responsible for my actions

Why do you make that assumptio?n. I don't think the rest of the world is jealous of me or America. Obviously, there are probably a lot of people in Africa who are jealous of Americans and Europeans and that jealously is not misplaced if they are starving. I have no illusions that the British are jealous of us.

I don't see how you know that they do think were jealous
I do believe alot of there history teaching was only about there own nation and very little to do with the rest of the world so they were quite ignorant that way, but it was not there fault
And that is fact xxx
