Dennis Rodman could shut down any player who was under 7 feet tall... he was also a much better passer, and a much smarter player.

Rodman was a better rebounder and a better defender than Wallace...and since rebounding and defense is ALL Ben Wallace can do, Rodman HAS to be better.

Rodman averaged 13 reb/game over his career, Ben only averages 10. They both average 31 min/game.

Rodman was a 58% career free-throw shooter, which is 16% better than Ben's 42%.

Rodman was a 7 time all NBA first team defense selection. Ben has (so far) been first team all defense selection five times. But as someone pointed out earlier, Rodman could guard guys in the post as well as out on the floor...Rodman was also a one-man full court press.

To summarize, there is nothing that Ben Wallace does that Rodman couldn't do better.

ben was stopper in the middle. not much was gonna get by wallace. rodman on the other hand to me was a more versatile defender who guarded many postions on the floor. while he's no gonna block ur shot straight up, he's gonna play as tuff a defense as anyone.

ben is a great rebounder without a doubt...but worm was RELENTLESS on the boards. he didnt even have to be in postion b/c he would try to tap the ball to himself.

as far as shooting and offense goes...did i say they were both outstanding defenders? lol

the problem with rodman is where would his mind be during the game. if he played w/o all the distractions that he brings, this match-up to me would be a no-brainer...in rodman's favor but since u dont know his mood...sometimes u dont really know what ur gonna get. yet as much as a wack job rodman was...he knew how to use it to get under players' skin.

if u need a defensive anchor....u go with ben. if u need a guy to take ur best player out of his rthyhm...its dennis.

ill go with rodman.

I would say Rodman is better than Big Ben, defensively, because the Worm is much quicker that's why he's able to guard centers, forwards and even some shooting guards. While Rodman is much better in straight one-on-one defense, Wallace is better in defending the shaded lane with his shot blocking skills.

Yes, Rodman was the man. His personality was much more killer instinct than Ben Wallace's and with their position, Defensive player/awesome rebounder, you need to have one hell of a mean streak and Rodman had it. Rodman also won a lot more championships than Wallace. You stick Rodman in his prime on today's Bulls in place of Wallace and they would be better, that's a fact.

Not "is" but "was".
D. Rodman.
In his prime "the worm" was quicker and could shutdown any player on the court.
