my dad doenst like to spend much money on computer, he think i play games with it when i doesnt, and my old computer just broke down and i want to buy this computer, but he already have some one coming over tomorrow to fix it for me, anyone have any idea for me on how to convince my dad to buy me this new computer? it's around 1000 dollars. windows vista .. thanks!

you only need a new PC for gaming or programs that need lots of power (like 3D renderers, industrial illustration packages, etc)
you can still wordprocess, surf the net, and all that junk on a cheap 4 year old PC for 300 dollars at the most, AND you can still play most games on lower graphics settings anyway! just throw in a few upgrades
that brand spanking new PC will drop 200 dollars in price in a matter of months, you just want it because it's all shiny and you can grab to your friends
you think your dad has 1000 dollars sitting in his wallet? buy what you NEED, not what you WANT
