Yes. Boba Fett is a clone of Jango. In SW episode 2, it is revealed that all of the Clones in the Republic Army are clones of Jango Fett, with genetic modifications to increase maturation and make them good soldiers. Jango also requested one clone (unaltered) to raise as his own son. This is Boba Fett.

Boba Fett is an unaltered Clone of Jango Fett which he requested from the cloners, as the other clones go through a sped-up aging process
if you watch Episode Two it's explained in teh conversation between Obi-Wan and the Cloner Woman
also, as the person above me was saying, in the "Bounty Hunter Wars Trilogy" books, Boba Survives the fall into the Sarlaac pit, he blasts his way out and is close to death, he is nursed back to health by a Twi'lek that escaped from Jabba's palace

Yes he is a clone. In exchange for giving his DNA for the clone army he asked the Aliens to give him a non-taintet clone. All the other clones were genetically enginered to follow orders and therefore be perfect solders, but Boba was created without that lock on his personality/mind whatever. He's got the freewill the clones don't.

Yes if your acquaintance would just watch the movies he would learn that from SW 2. Oh and Pickle Boba is still alive. (I can't remember which) in one of the series that comes after it (in books) he blows up the sarlaac pit can't remember how though.
