The list of universities with a good premed program is identical to the list of good universities. Visit US News & World Report's web site for a ranking of schools.
But the clear winner in the Carolinas is Duke -- followed by UNC, NC State, Wake Forest USC and Clemson. There are also some excellent liberal arts colleges like Davidson.
The quality of your undergraduate education is a big factor in getting into medical schools. While there are other universities in the Carolinas where you MIGHT be able to get a good education, those schools won't do much for you in terms of getting into medical school.
